We walked from “Horseshoe Bay to the USA”, with two of our friends, following the directions in your book. We started May 3 and finished October 2 and did it in 13 walks instead of 10. We took two cars and put one at each end. It was a highlight of our summer. On all the days we walked we had nice weather – some too hot! – and the scenery was amazing. What an incredible city we live in – we went to many places we had never been before and learned a lot more about Vancouver. The directions were very easy to follow and the way you broke each walk up giving times and kilometres was very helpful. Also the suggestions about where to find food and bathrooms were beneficial.
This week we finished our walk from Horseshoe Bay to the US border. Our 6-walker group accomplished it in 12 Mondays in a row. To get and return from the start and finish points we always used Translink. It was excellent. We followed the itinerary that you describe in “Great Walks of Vancouver”. In some parts we made some short extra side trips, but always returning to the main track. Your idea in connecting parks, greenways, and dikes was brilliant. We really appreciate our endeavour, as it was a gratifying experience to see parts of the city in a different perspective. Congratulations for your book, which is a fine example of quality guide reporting.
